Process:

Over email or on the phone I’ll work with you to understand what you have in mind, learn more about your pet(s), where the piece will be displayed, your style, colors, and size. I’ll make recommendations and provide pricing and a time frame. If you have a specific date that you need the portrait completed by, please let me know.

Digital photos of your pet(s) work best because there’s no risk of loss in the mail. I can provide guidance if you don’t have a digital shot. I’ll create an initial layout sketch for approval before the drawing is completed. Upon completion I’ll send a digital photo of the finished piece and ship or meet you to deliver the portrait. Framing is up to the client, but I provide guidance and recommendations.

All you need to do is get in touch and we’ll go from there!

Pricing:

Portraits start at $400. Cost factors are size, number of pets and complexity of background (if any). Payments may be made by check, credit card or PayPal. I ask for 50% down with the balance due on approval of final art. Upon receipt of payment in full the final piece is delivered.

About me:

A life-long equestrian and animal enthusiast, I love bringing joy to people by creating portraits of their pets (and sometimes their children too). I combine my technical background in Veterinary and Medical Illustration with the ability to capture a subject’s personality and spirit.

Growing up, I could be found in one of two places - hanging out in my Mother’s art gallery or in a horse barn.  I received a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology in Medical Illustration. In the years that followed, I worked as a professional equestrian and illustrator, earned my master’s degree and worked as a designer and art director. Then, as careers go, ended up as a VP of a tech company on an airplane every week. I ditched that to start my own business, work with the talented folks at Iconfactoryfoster a lot of dogs, and get back to my creative roots with my art.
